Many of Extreme Shooters products are used in USPSA / IPSC related competitive events since that is the game the employees of the company play. Extreme Shooters CEO Jason Kleefisch has achieved Master level status in USPSA practical shooting events. Jason spent a few years obtaining a B class shooter level. As he got used to his equipment he began to make modifications. Having smaller hands, Jason developed his first undercut grip that greatly improved his control and performance. Jason then went from B class to Master class within four short months and realised that this type of grip could help a lot of people improve their competitive game. Further development has shaped the grip to what it is today. Extreme Shooters now have several top level competitive shooters reaping the rewards of the benefits they get by the use of an "Extreme" grip.
The modifications that Jason made to his STI pistol’s grip assisted him in
to a Master Class competitor in USPSA events.
Never being satisfied with using "stock" equipment, Jason's artistic tendencies lead to him painting his own equipment to stand out from the rest of the competitors at competitions. His ideas quickly expanded into some of the visions now available on the Extreme Shooters web site. Experimenting with new textures, paint and hydrographs, Jason stood out at matches with his colourful designs on his gun, holster and magazine pouches. He immediately began receiving requests from fellow competitors to "Extreme Out" their gear as well. From this “one man band” beginning Jason’s company has expanded to this size it is today.

coating is applied that is heat baked for maximum hardness
and scratch resistance to protect the finish.
Image Grip Bulider
STI Image Grip BuilderYou can build your own grip on the Extreme Shooters web site by choosing from the drop down features, or you can submit your own design to completely customise the look and feel of your chosen grip. Once you have submitted your art work they will have a proof back to you within 24 business hours for your approval. I found that the STI custom image grips have a secure feel to them that will hold up in conditions when your hands are moist. The grip does not just consist of a wrap around tape. Each grip undergoes a full main body reduction and a main spring housing reduction is also carried out. The main spring housing is custom textured with Extreme Shooters signature scale pattern and the magazine housing opening is enlarged to improve your reloading time. Textured Grip Builder
STI Textured Grip BuilderAs with the Image Grip you can also build your own grip on the web site by choosing from the web site drop down features to customise your look and feel of the grip. Material is removed from the STI grip both on and behind the trigger guard to allow for a higher hand position and the gripping surface is aggressively textured for a non slip surface. The grip is custom textured with Extreme Shooters signature scale pattern. Each grip also undergoes a full main body reduction and a main spring housing reduction. Again the magazine housing opening is enlarged to improve your reloading time.

From start to finish it take between seven to ten days to complete a custom textured grip. The STI custom textured grips I have been using have an anti slip feel to them that again will cope with damp or sweaty conditions. I found the undercut on and behind the trigger guard and the main body reduction improved my grip, as I felt that more of my hand was contributing to my ability to control the pistol during recoil. To top it all off, Jason adds an airbrush and splatter paint job to both the grip and mainspring housing, of which no two are exactly alike. Also you do not have to buy a new STI grip, as they can work with your pistol’s existing grip, as long as it has not been previously cut or patterned.

Hydrographic Service
Hydrographic ServiceAs well as customising STI grips Extreme Shooters also provide a Hydrographic coating service. This can be applied to holsters, magazine pouches, ear muffs, grips or for example you can also have a rifle Hydrographic coated from the muzzle to the butt.

Glock RetextureLike they do with a STI grip Extreme Shooters can also apply their design experience to the frame of a Glock pistol. If you send in your frame they will cut and re-texture the grip. As Extreme Shooters are a licensed FFL dealer shipping and returning your Glock frame are straight forward.
Custom Finishing
Custom FinishingExtreme Shooters combine custom airbrushing with the process of underwater image transferring called Hydrographing. There is a wide variety of patterns and colour combinations to choose from. To protect the finish a special clear coating is applied that is heat baked for maximum hardness and scratch resistance. All of the work is carried out in house from disassembly to re-assembly and every firearm is test fired before shipping back to the customer. For customers who live outside the USA it will be a lot simpler to just post your grip. I have no problem in disassembling and then reassembling a STI 2011 pistol, but you can always get a gunsmith to do this for you. When the Image Grip and Textured Grip were reattached to each STI pistol they both performed flawlessly when shooting tests were conducted on the range.
