5.11 Tactical has partnered with Wiley X Eyewear, the leader in military grade eye protection, to design and build their series of quality tactical sunglasses and shooting eyewear. They offer a range of styles inspired by input from tactical operators, shooting enthusiasts and others who want every advantage in eye safety. You can choose from plain, polarised and multi lens models.


                               The glasses and additional lens can all easily be stored in the protective case
                                         and you can quickly change the lenses to suit the light conditions.

The smoke lenses provide maximum glare reduction and will not distort colours and are excellent in bright or high glare conditions. Clear and Ballistic Orange lenses are preferred colours for use at the range and other applications where eye safety is the priority in low light or indoor applications. T-Shell coating means there is good resistance to scratching, cracking, and crazing. Selenite polycarbonate is die cut to produce lenses without distortion from any angle and is ten times more impact resistance than glass or resin lenses. The frames are built with Grilamid TR-90, a homopolyamide nylon characterised by an extremely high bending strength, low density and high resistance to chemical and UV damage.

5.11 Tactical® eyewear is designed, developed and manufactured by Wiley X Eyewear, who set industry leading standards through their precision manufacturing and quality control. The 5.11 CAVU Eyewear offers a new styling in a half frame with Smoke, Ballistic Orange and Clear lenses. The three lenses offer various strengths of light transmission ( 15% Smoke, 53% Ballistic Orange and 89% Clear ) and are distortion free and scratch, crack, and craze resistant. The lenses are easy to swap over. These tactical sunglasses are now also available in your eye prescription.                               The smoke lenses provide maximum glare reduction and the orange lenses are
                         good on dull days when you will need to enhance your visibility of your surroundings.
                                              The clear lenses are ideal for use at night or when indoors.

I have worn the 5.11 CAVU glasses for a full day during competitions and training courses on both indoor and outdoor ranges and they remained comfortable to wear. I have also used them with the smoke lens while skiing and the orange lens while mountain biking. The neck strap keeps them in place while performing dynamic activities. The lens bag also serves as a cleaning cloth.
