EHC 2010 Blog Final Report

The battle for Standard Division took place in my own squad and those squads either side of me. Adriano and Henning were in my own squad and Ralf, Blake, Zdenek, Petr Gregory and Gyorgy were either side of me and Jamie was a few squads away. I was able to watch all of them shoot at various stages of the event. Congratulations to JC for winning Standard at the EHC. Ralf was second with Gyorgy only 0.1% behind him! As Blake is from the USA his score was not included in the overall list, but his result would have put him in second place.

Blake’s score would have placed him in second place if he was a European

Less than 1 % separated Sascha Back and Cliff Walsh!

Sascha Back from Germany won Revolver. Cliff Walsh had four mikes on Day 1, but fought back. Again as Cliff is from the USA his score does not count, but he scored over 99%! As both Cliff and Sascha will be at the World Shoot next year in Rhodes, Greece, the revolver match will be interesting!

The competitors reconvened for the awards dinner in a convention centre in Belgrade city. The flags of the 44 participating nations were draped around the dining area. We heard speeches from IPSC Serbia Regional Director Spasoje Vulevic, our own Nick representing IPSC and the Serbian Minister of the Interior. The national anthems of the winner of each award were played. The French squad enthusiastically joined in with the singing of La Marseillaise!

Max Wiegand started competing in IPSC in 1978!

One competitor I had several conversations with was Max Wiegand from Germany. Now a super senior, Max is still competing. He started shooting IPSC in 1978 and won many matches with his Heckler and Koch P7!

Fancy taking a dip? Max about to dive in!

Many thanks are due to the IPSC and IROA officials and all those who put together an excellent European Championship. Also appreciation is due to our hosts in Belgrade and to the Serbian people; both those who were involved in the match and the general public who made us all feel very welcome in their city. I look forward to returning to the Delta Shooting Range and the wonderful city of Belgrade to take part in another IPSC competition!

The Caracal is made in the UAE and PH will have a review on our site soon

There was a party on the range last night that went onto this morning, with much dancing on tables with a few people ending up in the swimming pool!
