WORLD SHOOT REPORT DAY 4
Yesterday was a clear blue sky. An increased cloud cover was forecast for today and there is a bit of cloud and haze that sometimes obscures the sun. I am hoping for some more when I shoot this afternoon! Alas it was not to be and the sky was clear in the afternoon. Everything with this event is running fine and we are now into the final three days.
Thirty Stages
The thirty stages of the World Shoot all have a Greek theme. These cover areas like mythology, history, scenic areas and sports. You can see all the stages and other information on the event on the match web site www.wsh2011.orgJerome Poiret shooting on the move in Stage 22
Switzerland’s Oliver Josi showed me his verification list for the first three days. He said his times could have been better, but he did not have any penalties and it will be those who make the fewest mistakes at this match who will do well.
Team New Zealand spent some 50 hours travelling to get to Rhodes!
The Trade Tent
One of the interesting aspects of this event and one which the competitors enjoy is the trade tent. This gives everyone the opportunity to examine the pistols and ancillary equipment that we use in our sport. Below are a few images of some of the trade stands at the World Shoot. On Thursday this was all that Sandro from Ghost International had left; everything else he brought was sold!
Laiza from metrosportingarms.com has a range of World Shoot XVI shirts and memorabilia.
Sphinx IPSC
Wolfgang Schroeder from Kriss Systems had the range of Sphinx IPSC pistols on display.
David, Pauletta and Tim from STI had the range of STI pistols on display and also and range of accessories to purchase.
