Ruger 10/22 Picatinny Rail Scope Mount
Ruger 10/22 Volquartsen Extended Picatinny Rail Scope Mount. In a world of customised rimfire rifles there are still a lot of standard Ruger 10/22 rifles out there in regular use. One drawback of the 10/22 is the scope mount that comes with the rifle. With the Picatinny Rail now in universal use, this type of mount will not fit the regular 10/22 mount. With this in mind I selected a Picatinny rail scope mount that will fit the 10/22.
Ruger 10/22 Picatinny Rail Scope Mount
Made by Volquartsen, this scope mount is a no gunsmithing mount for the Ruger 10/22 receiver. It is CNC machined from an aluminum alloy to Picatinny specifications. The scope mount is 0.480 inches tall to allow the mounting of larger objective scopes. An extended length of seven inches allows for a more versatile mounting platform in addition to the 17 cross slots machined into the mount. The mount extends approximately two inches forward of the receiver to facilitate the mounting of a wide range of optics and includes four mounting screws. To secure this mount to the Ruger receiver you have to drift out the rear sight. As you are installing this mount you will not be using the rear sight anyway. I cleaned the four mounting holes on the receiver and the four mounting screws with solvent to remove any trace of oil. I then secured the mount to the receiver using a drop of Loctite on each screw. I then secured a scope, which had Picatinny scope mounts attached to it, to the Volquartsen scope mount and zeroed it in.
The Volquartsen scope mount is available in black and silver. Made to Picatinny specifications and gives you a rugged, stable platform for many types of optical sight.
