EHC Blog Day 1

Yael flying the flag for Israel! , Posted in Blog

We flew into Belgrade on Saturday afternoon and processed our Serbian firearms license with no issues. We then took a trip out to the range and registered. Staying at the Continental Hotel we met up with a lot of old friends. We ventured out into Belgrade city centre on Saturday night and it has a vast range of bars and restaurants.

Organised by the DVLE Apaffay Shooting Range in Debrecen, the MFS Open Level III IPSC Championship Match is taking place over the 9th – 11th July. First organised in 2006, this was the fifth match in the series to take place. Hungary is one of the new IPSC Regions in Eastern Europe. These regions have established themselves to the point where they now have some of the world’s best IPSC competitors and organise some of the best matches in the European IPSC match circuit. This Level III IPSC competition is sponsored by MFS 2000 ( www.mfs2000.hu ), which is an ammunition manufacturing company in Hungary.

MFS 2010 Day 3

The last day of the match and the mercury climbed to 36 degrees! All of the final day’s stages were down in the newly constructed shooting bays. I had to reshoot a 26 round stage three times due to the timer not working. This left me low on ammo for the rest of the match, so many thanks to Ralf Jensen for giving me a few boxes of his own ammunition. The match was over by 2pm and the competitors then all had lunch, which was included in the entry fee. Also bottled water and coffee were freely handed out.

The MFS Open takes place in Debrecen, in eastern Hungary. The range is a former military range that has been converted into a series of shooting bays to make it suitable for IPSC competition shooting. The number of bays has been increased this year to make it a three day 24 stage match with a round count of 400.

Unlike the EEO were we all got drown on the first day the weather here is warm with the temperature of 30 degrees at mid day. There is a heat wave across Europe at the moment.
