The Future of the Netherlands IPSC Region
The Netherlands IPSC Region and other Dynamic shooters had a very positive day this week at The Hague at the House of Representatives in Holland. Dutch shooters worked hard on a document for the Members of Parliament last weekend and on getting it to them in time this week, calls were made to explain our side of the story and IT HAS WORKED!!!.

The Future of the Netherlands IPSC Region
The Netherlands IPSC Region and other Dynamic shooters had a very positive day at The Hague at the House of Representatives in Holland. The meeting by the Committee for Security and Justice discussed Dutch gun law in relation to the terrible shooting in Alphen aan de Rijn. One of the proposals is the ban of "combat like” shooting sports. This would have included IPSC shooting. Dutch shooters worked hard on a document for the Members of Parliament last weekend and on getting it to them in time this week, calls were made to explain our side of the story and IT HAS WORKED!!!.
The major vibe among the Members of Parliament was that the proposed ban of a specific discipline of shooting was a bridge too far. Focus should be on what people get a gun permit, if that screening process is good enough why should there be limitations to the people that obviously passed those requirements. The Minister of Security and Justice said there would be meetings with the KNSA (Royal Dutch Shooting Association) and the NPSA (IPSC Netherlands Region) to discuss the proposal. A platform that NPSA did not get offered before as they were held out of meetings with the Minister as he forbid the KNSA (an organisation the NPSA is a member of) to consult NPSA and tell about the meetings.
It appears to have been a good outcome for IPSC Netherlands and it was really rewarding for NPSA to get this as a result of their hard work. Also many thanks to all of you who have signed the petition in support of the Netherlands IPSC Region.
