Ensuring that you magazines are properly stored and protected when travelling to and then taking part in a competition is critical to ensuring the functional reliability of all your equipment at a match.
Looking around to see what is available to store, protect and transport magazines I had a look at the California Competition Works pistol magazine storage pouch. Brownells carry these storage pouches in their product range. These storage pouches are available with four, six and eight individual storage compartments and are available in black, grey, navy blue, olive drab and red colours. I selected the six individual storage compartment version in the navy blue colour ( www.brownells.com product number 151-200-004AH ) to try it out.
Sturdy Design
Sturdy DesignThis storage pouch comes with a Velcro covering flap and stores your magazines separately, preventing damage and keeps them organized and ready to use. You can place the storage pouch inside your range bag or use by itself. I found that the pouch easily fitted in the side pocket of my Brownells Signature Series range bag

These storage pouches are made from Cordura nylon, with double sewn seams. The MMP models fit magazines up to 140mm in length and the MMP-T version will secure magazines up to 170mm length. The MMP-4 version will hold eight M1911 single stack magazines or four high capacity double stack magazines, such as STI, CZ and Glock magazines. The MMP-6 and MMP6-T versions will hold twelve M1911 single stack or six double stack magazines. The MMP-8 and MMP8-T versions will hold sixteen M1911 single stack or eight double stack magazines.
The California Competition Works magazine storage pouch will hold two M1911 single stack
magazines or one high capacity magazine in each pouch. The pouches will also store similar
sized equipment, such as the Mini Maglite shown.
Organised Storage
Organised StorageThese storage pouches from California Competition Works will keep your magazines protected, clean and ready for use. The single Velcro closure flap will enable you to immediately to access all of the storage compartments. Both the sturdy material used and the construction of the pouch is designed to take a lot of hard use. When using this pouch I found that each individual compartment will hold one high capacity magazine or two M1911 single stack magazines. You can also store other similar sized equipment in the compartments.
The California Competition Works magazine storage pouch will easily fit into the
storage compartments or side pockets of this Brownells Signature Series Range Bag.
You can store your magazines for several different pistols and magazine capacities by “colour coding” of the various pouch colours that are available with different pistols or different coloured range bags. These storage pouches will enable you to keep your magazines organised and protected, instead of having to go fishing around in the bottom of your range bag for your pistol magazines.
